In this challenge, we will reimagine the traditional egg drop challenge. Instead of designing a device to protect an egg from the impact of gravity, participants will develop a vehicle to safeguard a partially exposed egg from collisions with competitors' egg vehicles.

Teams of students must maintain their vehicles' balance on a pair of strings as their vehicle is released in a pendulum motion toward the opposing vehicle. Students can make defensive or offensive attachments, but it is required that the egg is positioned at the top of the vehicle. Please read the attached document for details.

Students in grades 5 - 8 may form teams of up to four members before the competition date, and are encouraged to make designs and experiment at home. The complete set of rules is attached to aid in planning before the competition day.
