THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME TO ADVERTISE QUARTER 3 OF CLASP - CREATIVE LEARNING ART and STEM PROGRAM!!! Read below to see more details for each lab!

Lab 1

At Home Chemistry - These experiments are suitable for both the laboratory and the kitchen! We'll utilize basic materials that are readily available at local stores (and some lab-grade materials for bigger reactions). Be amazed in the lab and then impress your family at home (just don't make a mess)! Concepts of density, polar and non-polar molecules, water-tension, equilibrium, and acid-base reactions.

Lab 2 - Reactive Chemistry - MR. CAMDEN is eagerly anticipating this lab - it was originally planned as the first lab of the new year, but the CLASP team decided to delay it to boost participation, given its popularity. Elephant toothpaste, "golden" pennies, color-changing reactions, and more! Explore concepts of exothermic and endothermic reactions, activation energy, redox, oscillating reactions, decomposition reactions, and more!

Lab 3 - Forensic Science

Investigations can be complex and typically involve a team of experts examining the evidence. Experience the responsibilities of various roles and discover how to analyze different kinds of evidence! Participants will explore concepts of fingerprinting, DNA synthesis and analysis, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and more!

Lab 4 - Blood Chemistry - Discover your blood type and understand the significance of the circulatory system! We will also delve into the field of Medical Lab Science and create a model of your blood type. Participants will investigate the principles of blood chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, career paths, and a combination of art and science.

Lab 5 - Solving Mysteries

Get ready to apply your skills by solving a crime mystery! Participants will gather and compare evidence, utilizing the scientific method and techniques learned in earlier labs to identify the culprit. Investigators will engage in fingerprint collection and analysis, DNA and gel electrophoresis analysis, materials analysis, and more!

Lab 6 - Dry Ice Day!

Dry ice is cool enough by itself, but this lab is sure to impress! Includes concepts of properties of matter, phase changes, pH color reactions, and more!

CLASP Quarter 3 runs from January 7th to February 27th, Tuesday OR Thursday, 3 - 5:30; NO labs on January 28th/30th or February 18th/20th, and NO CLASP labs will be conducted during Ramadan. All weekly labs have different topics, but the same labs are run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ladies are encouraged to join on Thursdays, but both days are co-ed.

Look out for our Saturday Labs, running on the 2nd Saturday of January, February, April, and May!
